Stage 3 / Kotari is complete

After yesterday’s heavy rain, the conditions were almost ideal for riding today. There was no dust, the ground had settled well, and apart from a few muddy patches and occasional puddles, the surface was in very good condition.

It was a fast and flowing stage, with good visibility and generally less technical terrain. Long open sections allowed riders to carry more speed, while the section below the wind turbines stood out as one of the most enjoyable parts of the day.

An unexpected road closure required a change to the planned route during the stage. The revised route was implemented smoothly, and rider feedback was very positive, both about the way the change was handled and about the character of the shorter route.

The shortened route also meant that Stage 3 was completed earlier than originally expected.
It was a different kind of Dinaric stage today: less technical, more open and faster, with conditions that allowed the riders to enjoy the terrain in a completely different way.
