The rally
When and where is Dinaric Rally 2027?
From 21 to 27 August 2027, based in Knin, Croatia, with stages in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is the eighth edition.
What is the format?
A prologue and five stages over one week, including a marathon stage with a remote bivouac and no outside assistance. Navigation is by roadbook only. The 2027 route is revealed in spring; we expect about 1,600 km. See the 2026 route and stages.
Which vehicles can enter?
Motorcycles, quads and SSVs. The Rally class has trophies for Malle Moto (unassisted), Veteran (over 55), Women and riders trained at Untamed Academy. Big adventure bikes are welcome too: in 2026 the motorcycle overall was won on a BMW R 12 G/S. See rally raid on an adventure bike.

Yes. As every year, Dinaric Rally is on the FIM Europe Open calendar.
First-timers and DARE!
Can a first-timer enter?
Yes. DARE! is made for riders new to rally raid. You ride the real stages with the same safety set-up and a time limit on each stage, but there is no ranking: you finish or you don’t.
I have never read a roadbook. Where do I start?
Train with Untamed Academy in the Roadbook Rally Bootcamp, a complete rally training that prepares you for Dinaric Rally or any other rally. Our roadbook lexicon explains every symbol. Start with our guide Roadbook navigation explained.
Paper or digital roadbook?
Both are allowed. Many riders use a rugged tablet with a Bluetooth controller.
Entry, costs and insurance
How much is the entry fee?
Until 15 November 2026 the Early Bird price is €1,600 for a bike, €1,780 for a quad and €2,000 for an SSV. Prices rise on 15 November 2026 and again on 1 July 2027. Rally and DARE! cost the same. See fees and costs.
What does the entry fee include?
Tracking and safety devices, roadbooks, medical and mountain rescue teams, three vehicle recoveries, collective third-party liability insurance, the welcome pack, the finisher medal and the finish party. The basic camp package for riders (water, electricity, basic resources) is included. Fuel, tyres, service, food and camp extras are not.
Is insurance included?
Collective third-party liability insurance is included. Personal accident insurance that covers motorcycle competition is mandatory and not included; we will connect you with an insurance company where you can buy it directly, for about €30. Read more about insurance.
Do I need a racing licence?
It depends on your national federation and the status of the event. Our licence and insurance guide explains the options. If in doubt, ask your federation and us before you register.
What happens if my bike needs recovery?
Three recoveries per rider are included. After the third, the vehicle is considered unable to finish. If you repair it and start the next stage anyway, each further recovery costs €200 plus €0.50 per km.
Can I bring my own assistance crew?
Yes, but every assistance vehicle must be registered for €200. Registered vehicles get stickers and a tracker. Unregistered assistance is not allowed, and on marathon stages no outside assistance is allowed at all. Prefer not to bring a crew? Our rally support partners can look after you.
Camp, food and travel
Where is the bivouac?
At the camp near Knin, about 15 minutes from town. We are rebuilding the bivouac into an official campsite, open all year round and bookable online. For riders, the basic camp package (water, electricity, basic resources) is included in the entry fee; additional resources such as EV charging, camper water refills and laundry are charged separately. What about food?
The camp restaurant serves buffet breakfast and dinner, ordered through the food order form and paid directly to the restaurant. See food and drinks.
Can I rent a bike or quad?
Yes, from our partner agencies; you book directly with them. See rent a bike or quad.
Where can I stay if I don’t camp?
Knin and the surrounding area have apartments and guesthouses. See accommodation.
Spectators and family
Can my family come?
Yes. Family and friends can stay at the camp. Spectator points along the route are free.
How can I follow the rally?
Follow every rider on live tracking, and watch the TV coverage on VOYO and RTL in the Balkans.
